Configuring Stop Loss Options

Stop loss settings protect your capital by closing trades that move against you. TradeShields supports fixed percentage stops and ATR-based dynamic stops.

How to configure:

  1. Choose a stop loss type:
    • Fixed percent stop loss: Set a fixed percentage from the entry price (e.g., 0.02 for 2%).
    • ATR stop loss: Set a multiplier of the Average True Range (ATR) to calculate the stop dynamically.
  2. Enter the stop loss value or ATR multiplier.

Example:

  • Fixed stop loss: Enter 0.02 to set a stop 2% below/above the entry price.
  • ATR stop loss: Use an ATR multiplier of 3 to set the stop three times the ATR.

Tips:

  • Use ATR-based stops for volatile markets to allow trades more room to develop.
  • Combine stop loss settings with take profit levels for balanced risk management.
