Configuring Stop Loss Options
Stop loss settings protect your capital by closing trades that move against you. TradeShields supports fixed percentage stops and ATR-based dynamic stops.
How to configure:
- Choose a stop loss type:
- Fixed percent stop loss: Set a fixed percentage from the entry price (e.g., 0.02 for 2%).
- ATR stop loss: Set a multiplier of the Average True Range (ATR) to calculate the stop dynamically.
- Enter the stop loss value or ATR multiplier.
Example:
- Fixed stop loss: Enter 0.02 to set a stop 2% below/above the entry price.
- ATR stop loss: Use an ATR multiplier of 3 to set the stop three times the ATR.
Tips:
- Use ATR-based stops for volatile markets to allow trades more room to develop.
- Combine stop loss settings with take profit levels for balanced risk management.
